The Tops Retreat 7 - 9 March 2008
Wow, what a great weekend!!. The retreat was held at Stanwell Tops in their ‘Banksia’ rooms. The food was quite good and there was plenty of it. The fresh fruit was great – especially the peaches. The staff was great and they were only too willing to accommodate requests – well done TTR staff!!Deb Ellicott and Rose-Anne put many hours of hard work and organization into the camp. Each participant received a K & Co page kit as well as a noodle box full of goodies at the ‘Black and White’ themed dinner on Saturday night. There were some wonderful, creative and sharing ladies at this retreat. A good mix of stampers and scrappers. Carol Jeffery shared some great ways to use your Cuttlebug embossing folders.
The theme for the weekend was ‘Black and White’. All participants got into the swing of the theme and dressed in the appropriate shades for Saturday night’s evening meal. On Sunday there was judging of the ’Black and White’ themed entries in stamping and scrapbooking. Entries in both categories were amazing. Denise made some beautiful black and white cards, scrapbook pages and some off the page items.Deb and Rose-Anne were extremely busy all weekend, assisting participants.
Rose-Anne took the stamping part of Cropworks and what a range she had. She was also able to demonstrate several new products from the Tim Holtz range – grunge board, crackle paint, dabbers and distress ink.Rose-Anne and Deb did an awesome job with the classes and demonstrations – something for everyone to take away and play. Lots of templates for cards and off the page items were shared by them as well. They were also extremely helpful with suggestions for layouts and advice on how to use various products.
It was a fantastic weekend.
