"Dwell on the positives and learn from the negatives." This is what I tell my students at school.

Sketch Challenge Layout

I took another photo - this one is a bit better
On one of the scrapbooking groups I belong to, each month there is a sketch challenge. I finally got around to participating in it this month. The layout above is my interpretation of the sketch.
Whilst doing the layout I also managed to clean up my flowers, bling and chipboard - all nicely organised in self sealing bags and labelled (yes, I know I'm annal). However, it really does help me find things more quickly and I'm hoping to use more of my stash instead of continually buying more supplies. I know my favourite LSS won't have as much custom, but seriously I think I could open my own shop with all that I have LOL.

Recipe:
Kaisercraft flowers and pearls
Chipboard
Letters - K&Co-Kology
Basic Grey - Pheobe papers
Adriondack Acrylic Paint Dabbers - Lettuce
Bazzill card

You can purchase all the supplies from Rose-Anne @ Cropworks.

I made this card for a sketch challenge this week and the card above is my interpretation of the sketch. Pop on over there to see what their design team have come up with for this challenge.
Recipe:
Cream card stock from Cropworks
Green card from Cropworks
A2 Cuttlebug Embossing folder - Divine Swirl
Patterned paper
Ribbon from Cropworks
Kaisercraft flowers from Cropworks
Kaisercraft pearls from Cropworks

Method:
  • Fold your cream card to make the card blank
  • Cut the patterned paper just a bit smaller than the card front
  • Place the patterned paper in your Cuttlebug embossing folder and emboss
  • Adhere to front of card
  • Cut your ribbon to length required and tie ends together, then adhere to card
  • Cut your green card to size and adhere to card
  • Use a scrap of the patterned paper and cut to size then adhere to green card
  • Centre flowers on patterned paper
  • Add pearls where desired.
This card could be used for anything. It would be great to use to send a friend a note or give someone a smile and let them know they're being though of.
Don't forget to contact Rose-Anne about supplies from Cropworks.

The Crafter's Workshop and Dabbers

Here is how I painted the background paper for Jessica's school layout. You can see the products I used.

The Crafter's Workshop and Dabbers

Have you ever tried to find the perfect patterned paper to do a layout of your child's school?Sometimes you just cannot find it. With a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and a 2 dabbers I created my own patterned paper that will work with any school colours. Jess's colours are easy as any Christmas theme will be fine but here i have used the stencil on white cardstock and the red and green dabber to paint my own patterned paper. I also used the stencil and one dabber to write Jessica's name.

This layout was done using 2 new products. Bazzill Swiss Dots cardstock in 2 shades of colours and Heidi Swapp Ghost Stickers. These stickers are transparent and I have added some Ranger Distress inks to them to make them the colour I want to suit the layout. Notice the texture in them. The pearls are Kaisercraft.

Treehouse Memories Patterned Paper

These papers are so versatile and classic. So they don't date and can match up with any layout or card. They are also double sided. the front is patterned and the back is a plain colour that tones in.
The flowers have been punched and Kaisercraft pearls have been placed in the centres.

Bazzill Swiss Dots Cardstock

This cardstock by Bazzill is so nice. The texture is great. There are 3 colours in each range. I made this layout for the camp I went to in May.It uses 2 colours in the pink range. I have also used Kaisercraft stamps and pearls. The chipboard title is a range we also stock and any titles can be ordered. This one is in script font.
